I am having surgery on Thursday and I am so hungry and tired. I don't remember when I had the lap band surgery being this hungry! Any suggestions how to get through the next 3 days? Who else is having surgery in the next week? Just want to know who is in the same boat as me. Also, try to make a living will and ripped it up. I no it is normal to be nervous and excited at the same time.

Honestly? It just sucks. The first 3-4 days are the worst, then it gets slightly less sucky, but it still sucks. So my great advice on how to get through the next three days is basically "you just suffer through it." Try to keep focused on your goal.

Having a living will/advance directive is a SUPER good idea. I have one on file at any hospital I've had a procedure at and I ensure that whoever is with me during surgery knows my wishes and what they're expected to do if I need them to advocate for me.

ooo... Also They have PB2 in Wal-Mart.... It is powdered peanut butter, perfect to add to any protein shake. its adds a good amount of protein, in 2 tablespoons.

can you freeze your protein shakes, to make it like ice cream? maybe a different texture in your mouth my be enough to "trick" yourself. try chewing ice, flavored water, and a straw. It may help. Other then that drink, drink, drink..... gaining a pound or 2 in water weight in the next few days, may be a benefit, for the first day when you don't drink much.

Yes, my operation is in 23 days.... I am nervous and excited. SOOOOO scared that I am not making the right choice.... But reality is I am currently the 2nd oldest living person.... soon I know my brother will not be here...Most of my family died by their 42 birthday..... I am 6 years away from that.... I need to be there for my son... I am trying to find a away to live longer... this is "my last resort"

I'm on Day 12 of a 3 week Optifast shake diet. It sucks, but you just...get through i****ching the scale go down certainly helps. As the days go by it definitely gets easier. The first four days were hardest, then I felt like I had a breakthrough.

I am having surgery on Oct. 11, and at this point I'm not counting down to surgery, I'm counting down to getting rid if these horrid shakes!
