All recommended products for full liquid diet post op please. I made a mistake in my prior post -not clear liquid!

  • Protein shakes
  • Sugar free instant pudding (add protein powder)
  • Light soy milk
  • Greek yogurt
  • Canned cream soups made with skim milk (cream of mushroom, cream of cheese...)

You can use flavor drops (Crystal Light, Mio, etc.) to add flavor to things, like orange drops in a vanilla protein shake to make creamsicle flavor.

Also verify that "full" liquids in your program is the same as other programs' "full" liquids. The surgeons don't necessarily talk to each other when throwing around these definitions (it seems that they rarely do!)

My full liquid phase was 4 weeks post op, and I drank:

--water

--Unjury protein chicken soup

--V8

--G2 & Powerade Zero

--protein shakes. Mostly I made with powder (Unjury chocolate splendor, Syntrax Nectar, Syntrax Matrix, Optimum Gold Standard, Chike) mixed with CarbMaster or Fair Life milk. I also did some Premier Protein shakes when I needed to carry something with me rather than make it at home.

Good luck!

You should confirm what your surgeon allows for full liquids. My surgeon allows smooth cream soups...and from what I can tell, there aren't many of those available--cream of chicken, celery and mushroom all have chunks. I have been doing the Pacific Foods brand tomato and tomato pepper soups (in tetrapaks) and they have been such a treat. Although I am only doing tiny amounts, they taste really good to me right now. After my surgery, I have found that I can't bear to consume overly sweet stuff, so I have been mixing Premier chocolate shakes half and half with Fairlife skim milk. I have been able to do lemon and key-lime flavors of sugar-free yoghurt and they seem to go down pretty well. I also bought some protein soups online, but haven't found them terribly appetizing.

I mainly stuck to protein shakes, sugar free popsicles, and strained french onion soup from panera.
