Eating myself sick was what I did for many months prior to my BED diagnosis. Definitely a thing :(

I'm not sure I agree with this because I still feel restriction daily. My restriction has only changed a tiny bit since the first few months. I still only can eat about 2-3oz of protein when I'm following what I'm supposed to. Somedays yes I can eat more but most days I can not. I follow what my dietician has laid out I get 1050 calories. Yea I've been going over that but I was told by her not to go below that 1050. This all of course is when I'm following what I'm supposed too. I do have some days where overeating is easy.

Most people are successful eating 600-800 calories/day during loss phase. If you're eating more than that, you will likely lose slower. For some folks, 1,100 calories (or less) is maintenance. I had an resting metabolic rate test done so I would know what I needed to eat for maintenance and it came back at around 1,500-1,800 for normal daily activity. I'm eating about 1,300-1,400 now per day and still losing, so that makes sense for me.

My gym has that test for metabolic rate, I thought about having it done, it's about $70 maybe I will.

Ditto what Erin said. Most people here stick to 600-800 calories a day for weight loss. If you're eating more than that, I'm willing to bet that the extra is coming from non-protein sources and those tend to trigger hunger which just keeps you in the cycle of wanting to eat more than you should. There's no reason that you shouldn't/can't eat fewer than 1050 calories a day.

Give us an example of a daily meal plan for you and maybe we can help troubleshoot.

Like the others, I would not go over 800 if I still had a bunch of weight I wanted to lose.

It's hard. Believe me, I know.

Get back on it NOW...do not let your old habits take over, don't think that because it did in the first months, your sleeve will do the work for you. Trust me--complacency is your enemy and it sneaks up on you and flips the switch to your "old" self before you're even aware of it. Take control back now!!

I am up to eating 1000 calories a day now and because I am also not exercising the weight loss has really slowed down.

As for restriction, I can eat about 4 oz at a meal. Once in a while I have an extra bit or two...The result is never pleasant.

I already know that my long term struggle will be sticking to eating 4 small meals a day. I can see how easy it would be to go to four or five meals and suddenly be grazing all day.

I am an expert on the part were I loose the weight but not so much with the keeping it off part. I have developed some new skills and have actually begun (more often than not) to think of food as fuel. I come here a few times a week for fellowship. I am also working with a therapist.

You came to the right place for help and support.
