Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Monday 9/18/17
Good Morning, VSGers. I forgot to turn my alarm on and I 'slept in'. It throws the whole morning off. I got my paper done yesterday though! And, somehow managed to still have time to shampoo my carpets and run to the store for a birthday card for a co-worker.
I was struggling this morning to find anything that fit me to wear to work. This should be a good problem, but I'm sick of alternating between two pairs of dress pants when my Le Tote box isn't here.
QOTD: How do you like your beef cooked? I'm really picky about beef. I'm the granddaughter of a butcher and grew on the same land as my Uncle's beef/dairy farm. We always had fresh beef. Anyway, I like mine knocked in the head with a shovel, seared, and served still lightly mooing. What about you?

I'm four weeks post op today, and it seems like a good time to start posting here.
QOTD - I love rare beef. My wife won't eat anything with the slightest bit of pink. It makes things difficult. Roasts are the best for us, so she can eat the well done ends, and I can have the juicy middle.
B - espresso con pana with light whipped cream (trying to come up with a good way to drink my coffee. I usually put in a ton of cream, but it's eating up too many calories), cottage cheese with lemon and pepper
L - deli roast beef roll-ups, with Swiss cheese, green beans, and a little horseradish mayo
D - marinated chicken thigh and a little broccoli
S - protein shake with PB2

Most of us use Premier Protein in our coffee as a creamer. It's a ready to drink protein drink. I use chocolate, some folks prefer vanilla. I drink two large cups of coffee and use about 1/4 of the 11oz drink in each cup.

I've tried the premier as creamer. I've tried cold coffee as the liquid in a shake. I've added instant coffee to a shake. I've added unflavored protein powder to hot coffee. The problem is that I like rich, creamy coffee, but I don't like it flavored and I don't really like it sweet. The nice thing about the espresso this morning was that I started drinking water much earlier because I wasn't walking around with a travel mug of coffee. Otherwise it was kinda gross. I might try some French press coffee - I don't mind that black, but it takes a lot longer to make.

E: Walking around MSU's campus w/ boyfriend until I have to go to my night class tonight.
Good morning - that roast looks delicious - we ended up having a piece of prime rib last night - takeout from the local DelFriscos - we get one meal and I eat the top cap and my husband the rest...I basically like my meat medium, but still on the pink side. My goal for today is to stop mindlessly eating candy around the office. It's disturbing when I am mindful to realize how much junk I consume.
B: 1/2 english with 1% cottage cheese
L: i brought a protein drink, but basically hate them, so we shall see
D: strip steak, cauliflower
S: made apple pie yesterday, planning on having a sliver
E: gross here - muggy, hot, disgusting, so idk
L/V: on track

Whining ahead, beware... I had a great time hiking yesterday. Holy cow it was beautiful up there. And then my neighbor sent me pictures from the day. I look terrible in them - and look way more than 15 pounds from my goal. How can there be such a disconnect between what I see in the mirror and the reality the camera captures? I'd be happy never to have another picture taken of me again - it just depresses me!
QOTD: I like beef medium, but also like the ends of a roast that are crispy.
B - coffee, bacon, eggs
L - yogurt
D - salmon and a veggie
S - protein pudding
