Weight Lost So Far
I began my liquid diet on Aug. 14 and had surgery on the 28th. I am now down 19lbs. Am I doing okay or should I have lost more weight by now? I am still following my surgeon's post-op meal plan and walking too.
Is that down 19 lbs since surgery, or 19 lbs overall? Do you know what you weighed the day of surgery, and what you weighed when you got home? The majority of people are several pounds heavier after surgery due to all the fluids that are pumped into you during surgery. It will take a while to get rid of that. Keep to your plan, and the weight will come off.
There is no "right amount" of weight to have lost by now. Everyone loses at a different rate for a variety of reasons. Don't try to compare your weight loss with anyone else's, just keep on keepin' on and you'll do fine :)
It's 19lbs since I started the pre-op liquid diet. I don't know what my weight was the day of surgery and I don't think a weight was taken the day I came home which was the following day. I guess I'm starting to worry that I will not have lost enough by the time I go to my next appointment on Oct.6.
There shouldn't be an "enough" by the time of your next appointment. We lose at the rate we lose. If you're sticking to the plan, you're losing the right amount of weight.
