Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Friday 9/15/17
on 9/15/17 9:17 am
Still playing around with this menu, will probably readjust as the day goes on to at least try and get more cals in. Got some Xylitol from the store the other day and I want to try and experiment with making some sugar free zucchini bread, so I've accounted for those macros. Been wrestling with the idea of raising my net carb count. My NUT wants me at 75 net carbs daily and right now I try to aim for 50. I know carbs are a bit of controversial subject, but I want to see if it will help with my energy levels a bit. Had a homemade bran muffin last night and woke up this morning feeling pretty good energy wise, but that might be totally anecdotal lol. In any case, will start out will small amounts and assess. Starting to think that super low carb just may not be right for me and I need a more balanced diet given my ongoing issues with severe fatigue ever since VSG.
QOTD: Pistachio!

Just a quick FYI - xylitol triggers acid production for me, so I need to avoid it. So be aware. (This isn't an issue for everyone, so I'm not trying to scare you away from it. Just don't want you to be like me wondering why I was having acid issues out of the blue all of a sudden.)

Happy Friday, everyone! We made it! Lots planned for this weekend. Dinner out at a new Tapas place in Liberty with a couple of girlfriends. Wish me luck in finding protein forward/low carb on the menu!
QOTD: truly one of my weaknesses, so a fave flavor of ice cream is hard, but if I had to narrow down to top three it would be: Spumoni, World Class Chocolate from Baskin Robbins 31 flavors and Chocolate Peanut Butter ribbon from same chain. Yummo!
B: chocolate premier/black coffe, 2 mini tootsie rolls
S: turkey summer sausage, reduced fat string cheese
L: 1/3 c. cottage cheese, 3 oz grilled chicken breast
S: watermelon with a few blueberries
D: 2 Spanish meatballs, share a flan with my 2 dinner mates....NO WINE! :)
Walking, water and vites/supplements in!
Good afternoon, all! It's a great day today! The sun is shining, I reached goal (see main forum post, won't bore you more here lol), and had lunch with my besties...can't ask for more than that!
QOTD: Was never a big ice cream eater, but when I did, I really liked Haagen-Dazs Rum Raisin, and B&J's Chocolate Fudge Brownie. I also liked a really good vanilla, like Breyer's Vanilla Bean. It may be something I add in one day. Now that I'm keto, there is a gal who wrote an amazing keto ice cream book, and I'm thinking about getting it and giving it a try. I hear nothing but rave reviews!
Got a late start so lunch with my besties was actually breakfast. Plenty of leftovers so that will be my meals for all day!
B: Coffee w/H&H and xylitol, Chicken taco salad without the taco bowl, extra guacamole, no beans! Muy delicioso!
L&D: Rest of the chicken taco salad
Water and vites on track
E: Homework (lol)
Good luck with the interview! Your post just made me realize that I've quit losing hair! WOO HOO!
QOTD: Mint, mint and mint. I'm a mint freak. I ate an entire tube of toothpaste as a kid... That being said, we have a local (1 store) place that does small batch frozen custard. If you want something that isn't in the weekly rotation of 6 flavors then they will make a batch but you have to buy the whole batch. My sweetie's birthday was Tuesday and I bought her a batch of Mexican chocolate. It is crazy good chocolate with cinnamon and chili in it. Mmmmm, it will last until Christmas!
B: naked morning mac
L:chicken enchilada
D: possibly a muchacha burrito. Well a quarter of one anyway!
Better late than never...
B: protein shake
L: 4 oz spiced up chicken
S: protein shake
D: teriyaki chicken at Panda Depress
E: 6 km alk and 108 flights of stairs
Normally I would avoid crappy chain food, but I'm on my way to a gig tonight, and the theatre is in a crappy ghetto city. Panda Depress is the only thing approximating food that is not Chipotle.
QOTD: In order, 1) cinnamon, 2) double chocolate malted crunch, 3) rocky road.
