Pant size
Im three weeks out from surgery and down about 30 pounds. I feel great. I've been getting lots of compliments. My shirts drape better. My pants, however, aren't really even loose. Anyone else lose a a significant amount before their pant size went down?

I didn't need new pants for 50+ pounds. I figure it's because my pants were tight when I had surgery. So I had to lose weight first for them to fit well. Then I had to lose more weight for them to be baggy enough to replace.

There's a paper towel theory I've heard to describe this. Think of a new roll of paper towels. If you pull off a few sheets, the overall size of the roll doesn't change. Now let's say that roll is nearing the end. Removing a few sheets makes a dramatic difference in the size of the roll.
So when it comes to your body and losing weight, your biggest areas are going to take the longest to show a difference. And the parts that don't have as much fat to lose are going to look smaller soonest.
