Hair loss - Is it a given?

It starts between months 3 and 6, and continues for 3 to 6 months. Nothing you can do will make a difference. Extra biotin won't, but it will give you unwanted facial hair if you take too much.

Patience.

I think I started rapid hair loss at about 5 or 6 months. Can't remember exactly. It's much better now at almost 11 months out.

I lost a whole bunch of hair, probably from months 4 to 8. It made me sad, but my sadness wasn't even comparable to how HAPPY being healthy and moving through the world at a "normal" size makes me. So grin and bear it, because the rewards outweigh the benefits "times infiniti plus pi" (as our 7 year old would say!).

Opposite experience for me, ifanything, my hair has been growing wild.

You're correct, supplements won't do anything to prevent or slow the loss. You're wasting your money, unfortunately.

My nails are very thin and brittle so I thought I would take them for a few months and see if it helps them improve a little. Its a Hair, skin and nail formula one.

The hair loss will just run its course :) And I hope I dont end up like a chia pet as one of the girls described. Have to keep our sense of humour :)

Yep, it's a given, but it does stop and the hair that replaces it is extremely healthy from the vitamins you've been feeding it.

It's time for a makeover! Some cute layers will blend in that new growth so you don't look like a chia pet when its coming in. Shorter hair isn't as traumatic to see coming out, either. Add some highlights for a great mood booster. You deserve it!

Not a given. I was lucky I guess, I had no hair less after surgery. Maybe my body was used to having surgeries, since the VSG was the 5th major surgery I'd had. Whatever it is, the hair loss isn't an absolute.

5' 5" tall. VSG on August 4, 2015/ Starting weight 239.9/ Surgery weight 210.9/ Current weight 137.4/ Goal weight 140/ No longer overweight, now a NORMAL weight. Now that I'm at goal, it's time to move on to maintenance!!!!!!!!
