Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Monday 9/11/17
Happy Monday, VSGers! I got my hike in yesterday like I wanted! We did 4.2 miles with the kids and also took them to a family fun day sponsored by their PTSA. I went on the playground swing for the first time in forever and my butt didn't hurt (see picture below)! I was able to run for part of our hike too, and my trail shoes are really awesome for that. I've used them for a lot of hiking but no trail running so far.
QOTD: Today is Remembrance Day for those of us in the U.S. Where were you on 9/11? I had just started my Freshman year in college and was in the dining hall watching the TV when the 2nd plane hit the tower. The University I work for now lost four Alumni that day. We have a piece of the metal from the 1st tower that has been turned into a memorial for them. My folks are in charge of the sound/AV for it this morning.

Hello all! Hope everybody had a good weekend.
QOTD: I turned on the tv to watch the local news for the morning traffic reports while eating my cereal and watched in horror while the towers fell. Then I had to go to work where everyone was in a fog of sadness and disbelief all day. A guy who's desk was a few feet from mine lost his brother in the attack. He worked for Cantor Fitzgerald.
B - coffee and yogurt
L - leftover stirfry
D - real good pizza
S - protein pudding
QOTD: I was in the 1st grade and was in Art at the time. There was an announcement over the loud speaker that we were on lock down and no one was to leave the class room. Parents were frantically leaving work and lots of kids were getting picked up and taken home..

Good morning, hope you all had a good weekend. The sun is out and the sky is blue for the first time in so long! Our valley is getting a break from the smoke today, thank goodness.
QOTD-I had just had foot surgery and was home recuperating, I just sat in stunned silence like most everyone. It shows what a small world we live in when most of us knew someone, either directly or indirectly, that died that day. My uncle's best friend's daughter lost her husband, he too worked at Cantor Fitzgerald.
B-Yogurt w/chia, flax & pumpkin mixture
L-Leftover spinach and mushroom omelet
S-chai tea w/vanilla protein shake
D-I have no idea
E-Finally get to walk in clean, fresh air today!
Good afternoon!
QOTD: I was getting ready to start my Sophomore year of college on 9/11. They actually pushed the start date back a few days. Mostly because I live next to the largest air force base in America and it got pretty busy there during those first few days after.
