Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Saturday 9/9/17
Good Morning, VSGers! Prime Rib day was a hit and it was delicious! I want to turn around and go buy another one but save more of it this time. The Horseradish Cream sauce was amazing too, but I used local "hotter than hell" horseradish and it was spicy. I actually upset my stomach with it I think, ha!
I'd like to take a hike today and our local apple orchard opened for picking yesterday, so we may go and pick some apples. Or, that might end up being next weekend since Jon really wants Honey Crisp (and I don't eat apples, so I don't care!). Either way, it's supposed to be cool and sunny, so perfect for hiking.
My carbs were really low yesterday, and I can feel it today. They haven't been high anyway, but I think I had 14g total yesterday and my head hurts and I feel generally icky this morning. Hello, carb flu!
QOTD: When do you start Christmas shopping? I know that no one wants to talk about it, but with the changing of the leaves, I start to think about what's coming. I generally sack away money for September/October and then start shopping on November 1st. I always get as much as possible during online Black Friday deals and always hope to be at least 95% done by December 1st.
7 months post op/Maintenance/139.0lbs
M1: Premier Protein, Coffee, Miralax, and HC (I budgeted extra cups this morning, too)
M2: (2) small scrambled eggs & (2) small sausage patties
M3: Emiepie's Egg Salad and Pork Clouds
M4: Turkey Sausage Link & Broccoli
S: Yesterday, I had 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1/2oz almonds and 10 olives for a snack and it was awesome. So, I may repeat that.

Good morning, All,
I continue my struggle to lose some weight before my trip to South America in October. I was doing well, and then had the grandkids for the weekend last week and I ate terrible! So I'm back on track with no distractions this week.
I found a recipe for a cold chicken salad with a spicy peanut sauce with red peppers and spiralized cucumber. The peanut sauce is made with PB2 and I can eat a good sized serving for 250 calories. Coupled with my morning salmon, also about 250 calories, that leaves 500 calories for dinner and snacks.
Breakfast - salmon
Lunch - chicken salad with spicy peanut sauce
Dinner - eggroll stuffing casserole - also good for the diet - lots of veggies and some pork sausage - yum
snack - sugar free, fat free pudding with blueberries.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
Carol

I have two days off somehow (....) and so I am excited to clean my apartment. My life at 40 = very thrilling.
Done with my Christmas shopping! Mostly because I know I'll be having surgery soon, and changing jobs, and even I am not crazy enough to Do Everything At Once. Barely not crazy enough....still crazy! But not that crazy!
Apparently I'm also talking in italics today....
M1: 30g protein shake
M2: greek yogurt (5 ounces) with 2 tbsp homemade sugar-free strawberry freezer jam.
M3: Cucumber and tomato salad with feta. Going to have a second protein shake with it, likely.
M4: 5 ounces of salmon with a miso sauce. 1/2 an artichoke if there's Harvey space.
M5: If I didn't have a protein shake during M3, I will at this juncture.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Happy Saturday all! Not a lot exciting going on here today, but it's gorgeous outside.
QOTD: I have such gift giving anxiety that I dread Christmas shopping. I always feel like I pick the wrong thing. So mostly I end up procrastinating trying to figure out what to get everyone and then fretting that I bought the wrong things.
B - coffee and yogurt
L - chicken
D - chicken wild rice soup
Well my pounding headache from yesterday has now shown itself as the start of a sinus cold. I haven't had one of these since before surgery and I use to get them all the time. Part of me likes to think the surgery may have helped that, but who knows.
QOTD: I usually start shopping in mid November. I like to do most of my shopping online. I really dread the mall.
B: Greek yogurt with bran buds, coffee
L: buffalo chicken salad with a wasa crisp
D: turkey enchilada skillet
S: protein bar
E: resting
W&V
Good morning! Hiked a mountain for 2 hours this morning at Oh-Dark-Thirty, felt great!
QOTD: No Xmas shopping. Our loved ones get presence, not presents.
B: protein shake - tried PP caramel for the first time, it's... different.
L: stir fry
S: protein shake
D: ???
E: 2 hour hike to the summit of a mountain!
