Does water taste gross?

Four months after surgery and my beloved Poland Spring chilled water tastes nasty, and has since surgery... Is this something others have experienced? I tried room temperature and also gross. Aargh.

All my favorite beverages tasted nasty after surgery, and drinking water is nearly impossible for me. It tastes okay but the surface tension makes it hard for me to swallow. All you can do is experiment with other things until you find something that doesn't taste gross. It took me 6 months to find one thing I could drink that actually tastes good to me...Diet Lipton Green Tea with Mixed Berry. I can drink a couple of other things occasionally that don't taste awful to me, but they don't taste like they used to either...coffee, iced tea, and water if I put lemon in it.
I do a lot of diet Lipton tea these days. I dilute it with 1/2 water...that or coffee works. I generally do iced tea of all sorts okay.
Milk I could drink, however dairy anything gives me hideous GERD post-op, and I also have always hated Milk regardless.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I didn't like plain water for a long time after surgery, I used Mio drops to flavor it. Now I go back and forth. I'll get burned out on drinking plain water and switch back to Mio, then burn out on it and go back to plain.

I alternate between tolerating it and not tolerating it.
When I can tolerate it, I do 24 oz. of ice water and then 24 oz. of Crystal Light (back and forth all day). When I can't tolerate it, I just do Crystal Light. Haven't figured out a pattern for when/why it happens, unfortunately.

I just find it really weird. I was drinking vitarain zero but found that my GERD flared even worse. Powerade zero works better, but I do t like the idea of drinking ferociously artificially colored beverages! I never drank them before surgery. Hopefully water will taste better eventually.

I couldn't tolerate plain water for almost two full years post-op. I can do it now, but I still prefer to flavour it with Mio or something similar.
