Hey Kim

Firstly congratulations on taking a huge step for your health :)

Re Food - during the liquids phase I missed being able to chew something and feel like I was actually eating but this stage is important for your new sleeve to heal and adjust. How long does your surgeon require you to be on liquids for? Mine was 2 weeks then onto Puree then onto food. If you are feeling hungry it will most likely be head hunger than all the vets talk about or Acid. Your nerves have been cut when they sleeved you and they have removed a lot of the hormone that gives you the hunger sensation.

Like each stage both pre op and post op - you will look back on parts of it and be thankful its passed. Your body is going through a lot right now both physically and emotionally. I was a hormonal mess for about a month after mine.

Come to the boards for support and answers. There are many veterans on here who have been there and done that and are happy to share what worked and suggest what to stay away from

Welcome to the losers bench :)

Shirley

I am trying not to cry every time someone in my family eats real food. I am supposed to be on liquids for 10-14 days. I am on an acid reducer and trying to do everything everyone suggest. I don't want to complain I choose this and know it will be with it. I just wi**** would speed up a little bit. Maybe be on day 14. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

Like Grim said - hang in there. You have just been through major surgery and your body is adjusting to a lot. Soon you will be eating and able to join in with your family. And you will be blown away by how quickly the weight drops off if you follow the guidelines

Take care and be kind to yourself

The first 2 weeks I was the hungrier. Then hunger went away for about 9 months.

It gets better. Right now you have all the negatives of major surgery, and none of the benefits. In another month or two you will be recovered, feeling better, and shedding pounds.

Hang in there.
