Ice cube trays

I bought a specialty ice cube tray a few months ago on clearance. It is similar to this. It's essentially an extra large cube designed to go into ****tails and melt slowly. I realized this evening that it is almost 4 oz. It made portioning out puréed soups really easy. Has anyone else tried something similar?

I freeze coffee so that when i make my own iced at home, it doesn't dilute -also freeze homemade broths, tomato sauce, paste, etc.

I don't really like cold coffee (except for really hot afternoons, never in the morning), but I have frozen coffee for the rest of the family. Such a nifty trick!

I used 3oz Dixie bathroom cups. They worked really well, and they were super cheap!

Any trouble getting the frozen stuff out? I was worried that they weren't flexible enough to pop stuff out?

My sink is big enough to fit the muffin tray. So I just run a couple of inches of ho****er. Place tray in, and viola.

I used that for making my purees... I'd puree stuff in advance, freeze it, and pop it in a container for work. I should start doing this again as I LOVE soup in the fall, but never can eat a whole dang batch and so I don't make it!

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
