Hungry?
In addition to head hunger or acid, it could also be dehydration - how much fluid are you consuming each day? You need to get at least 64 ounces. You might need a stronger PPI.
Also remember that you can't trust anything your stomach is telling you right now because the nerves were all severed during surgery. Until those heal, you can't trust any signals from your stomach.

It's hard to be a good judge of anything this early out. But, I assure you, it DOES get better. Just remember that right now you're in full on healing mode. Focus on liquids and proteins. Walk as much as you can. Be gentle with yourself - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

At one week I had chicken broth, sugar free jello, pudding, and popsicles. I still eat popsicles at almost 3 weeks out because I'm addicted to them. I did have no sugar added applesauce around the end of week one because I needed it to take medicine. My stomach tolerated that really well.
Also, the PowerAide Zero's were a go-to drink for me. I couldn't get all of my fluids in with jus****er, Premier Proteins, and the broth. Plus, they have a great flavor to them so I felt like I was "normal" for a moment lol.
If you get gas pains, try GasX. I also find that even now, I have to stand up for a while during/after dinner. I walk after dinner too, either pacing around my apartment or my boyfriend and I walk around our complex.
Good Luck to you!

I think the real question is - does it matter if you are hungry? One thing I've learned about head hunger is that I have to talk tough to it. When I feel it, I tell myself things like "hunger is not an emergency. I can wait until it's mealtime. Whether I'm hungry or not doesn't actually matter because I'm safe and healthy. It's okay to feel hungry when losing weight." The best thing to do when "hungry" is distract yourself with non-food related activities.
I was barely able to get the protein drinks down for 2 weeks post op, broth and jello also were slow going.
I am 6 weeks out and just starting to feel hungry. I am eating soft food and pureed food still. things still feel really tight for the most part.
still feeling tired a lot of the time, but that's because of not meeting my protein goal. I keep trying though..
Good luck!
