It's definitely not for everyone, but I just couldn't not get involved when I was seeing and hearing about all the dogs and cats that were unneccesarily being euthanized in our city shelters. When you see how some folks just carelessly dump animals off there, it gets to you.

I grew up in a family that was heavily involved in our local humane society, so I am too aware of the cruelty. Its exasperatingly painful. Thank you for what you do.

It was cool and crisp here too this morning. The smoke from the fires always makes absolutely beautiful sunrises, the colors are different each morning. Our community had some bad news last night. The beloved Sperry Chalet up in Glacier Park burned down yesterday. One of the items on my bucket list was to be able to hike up there and spend the night, it's only assessable by foot.

QOTD-I have a set internal clock that wakes me at 5:30. I do set my alarm on work days but that is only to ease my mind the night before so I can fall asleep.

B-Greek yogurt w/chia & flax

L-Scrambled eggs with jack cheese and salsa

S-Chai tea and vanilla protein shake

D-Chicken salad in romaine lettuce cups

It's a lovely cool day here today, high only of 74F...it's 65F at 12:30pm. I have a ton to do today, so glad it's not blazing hot!

QOTD: I'm an extremely light and bad sleeper, and am awake usually every hour or so after the first 3 hours of sleep, so even though I set alarms when I need them, I rarely let them go off. I wear my FitBit while I sleep, and I set the alarm on it, which wakens me with a light vibration. I set backup alarms on my phone just in case, but I always turn them off before they go off.

Carbing up a little today, so having an apple!

B: Apple with natural peanut butter, coffee w/H&H and xylitol

L: Turkey sausage snack sticks and Swirls cheese sticks

D: Smoked pulled pork, fresh zucchini slices, homemade horseradish sauce

Up early today... spouse had a 6 a.m. conference call, so I went out for a 3k walk before showering for work. Home early from work, nothing to do!

QOTD: I'm usually up before my alarm, either because I will just "wake up," or one of the butthead cats will start tramping around the bed to wake us up.

It's raining and cold here for Kentucky. I have to work tonight so I did take a nap today.

QOTD. My alarm clock is my phone that is set with church bells. It wakes me up when I remember to set it. I get up at different times on my off days vs my work days. I have to set it a couple times a day to get up for work or to get up and get kids from school.

B 4 ounce steak/egg

L 2.5 ounces steak, 1 avocado

D premier protein with 1 tbsp. heavy cream

S premier protein with coffee

S carrots/dip 1 tbsp. hidden valley ranch

s 1 cup watermelon/cheese sticks x 2
