That sounds really hard, but you still have your weightloss tool! Did you get to goal after surgery and then regain? If you tell us what you eat then we may have more useful advice.
Also - what are the signs and symptoms you're having with dumping? Have you spoken to your surgeon or a GI doc?

When you say you're "dumping," what symptoms exactly are you having? Dumping is rare for VSG patients, but reactive hypoglycemia (which feels awful) does happen.
When you say you eat 1000 calories per day, are you logging and weighing and measuring your food to be sure that you're hitting 1000 calories? Or is that just a guess?

Sounds like there is something else going on ... I don't think you could be gaining fat on 1000 calories a day so the extra weight has to be water weight ... the question is why. How much water are you drinking and what is your salt intake like? Is it possible that you are eating something that you are allergic to (triggering inflammation)
I know it will suck but maybe you should go back to the all liquid diet for a few days and then gradually return to your normal diet one food at a time while carefully watching your weight to see if something causes sudden weight gain.
If you fall down you just have to get back up.

I don't understand why you think the poster couldn't gain fat on 1000 Val's a day.
All she she has to do is eat 1000 cal of cookies, chips, ice cream and chocolate milk and she can easily gain fat on 1000 cals a day.
Unless this person is very small to start with, their body will burn more than a 1000 calories per day just by breathing. The source of those calories do not matter. A junk food diet of 1000 calories will not make you gain weight ... you would be malnourished because those foods don't have the vitamins we need in them, but it won't make you fatter. The problem with junk food is that people tend to eat it in ADDITION to regular food and it is very easy to get allot of calories by eating a very small amount.

obviously, this person is posting on a weight loss surgery board. That means she is not very small. I specifically slope about gaining fat. If an obese person ate 1000 cals of junk food a day thT their body didn't need they could certainly gain 10 pounds of fat, cause the body would store the extra as fat.
