Back from a bit of a break
Hey all.
I've gotten a few concerned messages in the last few days so I figured I should update. Thank you to those who messaged.
A "fun" part in the existence of Gwen is insomnia. I've suffered from it my whole life and it comes and goes in waves. I stopped sleeping in the middle of last week and that started a sneaky hate spiral of dejection, depression, and demoralization. Sadly the best, and worst, thing for me to do during these bouts is withdraw so I don't hurt anyone I care about. I read a lot? So that's good?
Sadly, this was badly timed with the second week of my UBL/mastopexy recovery which made some people concerned that something had gone wrong. Nothing is wrong with my surgery. My physical recovery has been awesome and I'm feeling super great at 2 weeks post-op. I can pretty much do everything also I've got muscle atrophy to conquer and I've still got lifting restrictions (oh darn, no laundry). I'll be able to start light arm work in 2 weeks and then full exercise in 4 weeks. This recovery has been infinitely better than my first one!
So that's my story. Sorry to have vanished and caused anyone concern. Thank you for being concerned. I've managed to sleep the last two nights and today I'm working at self-care. I scheduled a hair appointment! I've made plans with friends! I emailed my mom! I'm going to the Ren Faire this weekend! Things are definitely on an upswing.
Insomnia sucks and it screws up every single aspect of life. I'm grateful that this bout was relatively short as things go. I hope the next one stays the hell away for a good, long while.

Thanks! The Faire should be fun times. I had to order a new cheapo bodice for my smaller boobs, and I'm borrowing a totally epic hat from a friend :)

I'm not super thrilled about all the people we're planning on meeting up with, but the Faire will still be fun and it's always nice to play dress up.
