Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Sunday 8/27/17
Good morning! I slept in until 7:30! That's big news in my world, and of course, now I feel all fuzzy headed. Taking my kids to the big Rock and Mineral show that the county puts on today. We love this show.
I tried corn on the cob for the first time post-surgery last night and ouch. I guess I won't be eating that again anytime soon, it hurt like heck! I think I had 2-3 bites total.
QOTD: Have your tastes changed post-WLS? Are there things you like now that you didn't before? Does food taste better or worse? Everything for me tastes amazing. It's like my taste buds woke up. I attribute that to never eating processed food. I also now like many things I didn't before surgery: Coffee, avocado, cherry flavored things, watermelon, all sorts of fish, etc.

I followed the plan yesterday except for eating an extra 0.6 oz meatballs and an extra 1oz smoked salmon. Today I've already eaten almost 4oz of scrambled eggs instead of my planned 3oz. It's been a hard morning with toddler teething and work stress. I just listened to my baby cry and shoved egg in my mouth - it was ridiculous. Tomorrow will be the start of the 6th month since surgery.
QOTD: Food tastes much better to me now. I use much less salt than before VSG and prefer my food without mayo or heavy sauces. My new favorite food is salmon in every form, especially tataki!

See, I love to salt everything now! I think because before surgery I was getting so much salt in processed food my body didn't need more. But, now I don't and I salt everything! Salted avocado is my favorite.

I think if I started eating salted avocado I would never stop! It was one of my favorite pre-op foods and I could easily eat a whole avo and want more.

Got carried away with appetizers again yesterday. Grrr. I stayed with meat things, but ate too much. Out to dinner again tonight, ****tail hour at another house Monday and then two weeks of houseguests. Give me strength!
QOTD: No change in my tastes at all. I also still have an iron stomach that welcomes everything (other than room temperature water).

Same here for the most part. I can't just about anything. Apparently, not corn on the cob without pain though. I've had cornbread, corn chips, and popcorn without issue though. Weird!

Scale up a pound from yesterday.
QOTD: things taste so much... "tastier" than they used to pre-op. Loving all types of vegetables I used to hate with a passion. No sweet tooth any longer, don't care for most carby things I used to crave - french fries, cookies, etc. Every so often I have a french fry from my spouse's plate and go "ICK. Why did I used to eat these?"

Ive been running behind all day, at least I got to church on time.
I ate too much junk food at my friends house yesterday.
Qotd food taste better, I wish some things didn't. I have to use more salt since my blood pressure goes low now.
