I had a consult recently and he told me 12 vertical inches. Sadly, that won't take care of all my stretch marks

Hi Sorry to change the question but how much is it for a tummy tuck? I heard it may be covered under insurance. I'm just about at goal and my stomach is horrible. Thank you

Insurance rarely covers reconstructive surgery these days and, when it does, it will likely only cover the panniculectomy, not the tummy tuck, abdominoplasty, or lower body lift.

Not for me, but that is because my jiggly bits don't bother me. You could start a plastics fund now, and if you decide against it you can spend the money on something else.

I would definitely wait until after you've reached your goal weight and after having your babies. I had lose skin before my WLS from my pregnancies. I chose to have a TT two years after losing my weight. BEST decision I ever made. Its amazing. I love my flat tummy and the fact that it also allowed me to go down another pant size! I'd wait until you're done with having your children. You should also check the Forum on "Plastic Surgery"! Good luck.

I was one prior to vsg that never envisioned getting a TT. I was just not concerned about loose skin, but far more about improving my health. Fast forward and the loose skin is prominent after a 150 pound plus loss. Turkey neck- check. Thighs- yes, but not ridiculous levels. Arms are not too bad. But- I carried all my weight in the abdomen. My stomach and back were bad. I qualified for insurance to remove the panni, and elected to pay the extra $2,000 for the anchor scar and abdominal muscle tightening. Best money I have ever spent on myself- just an unbelievable difference. I went from looking heavy in the stomach (mostly from muffin top) to a perfectly flat stomach. I just had a ton of loose skin there. I could not afford to have the back done, but that drapes more naturally so with clothing not a big deal.

Thank you so much! I wonder if my insurance would cover my removal. Something to think about for the future!
