Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Tuesday 8/15/17
That's an interesting one. When I lost 200 lbs about 10 years ago, it was roughly the same - average 10 lbs per month. I lost the first 100 much quicker than this go-round actually. I was on a liquid diet the first six months. I just assumed because I am older coupled with the fact that I've lost massive amounts of weight numerous times, that I've screwed up my metabolism. But being able to eat a wider variety, just a smaller amount has been pretty freeing.

B: PP and coffee, yogurt
L: turkey+cheese+avocado roll ups
D: probably leftover bacon+beef+zucchini
S: quest bar
One thing that has surprised me is how I think about my weight and my body so much LESS now than when I was obese. I can just throw on clothes and get on with my day and not worry about what I look like most of the time. It's wonderful.
I had a very similar thought today, as I passed the mirror in the rest room. I get up and I pick clothes and I put them on and I rarely think about where I might be bulging or feel the need to pull down my clothing all the time. I think my thought today was "I just look like a normal person who put on normal clothes".

QOTD: I don't go out to eat much. Maybe once a month. Then again, if I go to a movie, I may eat something there. We have a nice place that has affordable restaurant/bar and serve you in your reserved seat in the theater. I always ask them for a box up front, and rarely eat more than 1/3 to 1/2 of what I order.
Accountability: I had a slice of bread with peanut butter and nutella on it before bed last night. I paid for it by waking up with acid reflux and nearly vomiting in my sleep.
AM: Testing the new coffee machine. Finding it uses a lot of milk and needs adjusting. So far, two Flat Whites. May test later if it can handle van PP at low temp through the milk warmer...
S: Strawberry & Creme PP
L: Chicken, Cottage cheese & hummus
Costco run !!!
D: TBD
Water & Vites
I actually enjoy eating out so much more now that I don't feel married to food. I hope that continues for me. I'm able to enjoy what I choose, but I don't feel like it's my favorite hobby anymore.

Busy day today, work is crazy... otherwise just a normal Tuesday!
QOTD: The biggest surprise so far was how quickly people were to notice the weight loss. Also, how little normal clothing weighs!
B: protein shake; 160 cal
L: 2 oz. spiced up chicken with some broccoli slaw and shredded lettuce with a wasabi dijon vinaigrette and 1 oz fat free feta; 174 cal
S: protein shake; 160 cal
D: frozen teriyaki chicken thingies
E: 6k walk, 157 flights of stairs
"Friends are like flowers; no matter how well you pick them, they all eventually die."
QOTD: it also still surprises me how little I eat in day. When I tell people that I consume less than 1,000 calories but still make 100 grams of protein, they think it's literally insane and that I'm starving myself. I've been able to find a happy medium for my stomach and when I stick to it I lose really well. I may eat a lot of the same things everyday, but it helps me keep track.
B: L&F Greek yogurt with bran buds, coffee
L: Deviled chicken salad with wasa
D: turkey enchilada skillet
S: protein bar
E: walking
W&V
QOTD: There is certain areas of my life that I have always blamed my weight. Now that the weight is close to being off I am surprised the most by finding out it wasn't about my weight, it was something inside of me. I am not sure if I am making any sense, but it's been a big eye opener for me:-)
B-Chia/Flax & pumpkin seed "porridge"
L-Vanilla protein shake
S-String cheese and 1 small fresh peach
D-Dinner at local Pho restaurant, TBD.
E-1 hour walk with dog
I hope everyone has a beautiful Tuesday. The smoke has finally cleared some and I can see the mountains again!
