Happy Friday, everyone! It's three days until surgery for me, so I get to start arnica, hibiclens showers, and stool softeners today. I've also got Tai Chi and my monthly massage! Lots of fun and excitement.

Any big plans for the weekend? I'm having friends over for smoked meat on Saturday, but Sunday will be spent getting ready for surgery (combination of packing and reading).

1: protein shake
2: protein shake
3: chicken parmesan (I'm going to make a lot of chicken cutlets for the freezer.)

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: tai chi class! Last one for six weeks!

How about you?

Good morning! I'm smoking a pork butt this weekend too, Gwen. Apparently it's a pork week for me after the carnitas.

I didn't walk yesterday because we had thunderstorms all day, so back to it today. I'll be wearing my new hiking boots to break them in a bit - getting ready for a hiking trip to Sedona in October. I also downloaded a workout app that works on my Apple watch and guides you through 12 minute HIIT workouts using whatever equipment you have or just bodyweight if you don't have anything else. Should be interesting. Hiking and walking have always been my thing. Never regular workouts, but I guess it's not too late to start!

B - coffee and yogurt

L - carnitas

D - steak and corn tomato salad

S - beef jerky

Smoked pork is amazing, isn't it? :D We're doing ours "in the flavor of al pastor" for a "Mexi-que" feast with friends. I'm excited!

Good luck with the workout app.

Sedona! So magnificent. When I went I was only in shape enough to do the driving tour. It was spectacular though. Would love to hike there.

October is the perfect time for Sedona. Are you an AZer too?

Ooh, that's good to hear. I'm normally a Californian. I've never been to Sedona, but it's a hiking trip led by a hiking group my friends are part of. So I'm tagging along. Looking forward to it!

Sedona is beautiful and very unique. Make sure to hydrate extra, even before you go. It's the high desert and super dry. I hope you have a fabulous time.

I was looking for something warm i am in phase 2. I put 2 oz of chicken tenders in a an old Chinese soup container filled with water and cooked it for three and a half minutes drain the water shredded the chicken then I used three and a half ounces of the chicken in a cup of beef bullion with pinch of pepper it was very nice it is now a little go to snack for me I can just heat some bouillon at a little bit of the chicken and I'm good to go
