Labs and Protein

The question is not what others are getting, but what YOU need. And your labs say you aren't getting enough.

Tiny increments never seem to do much, if anything. Add 50 percent to what you've been getting, and have labs rechecked after a couple of months.

I have struggled with having enough protein show in my blood work..as well even though eating plenty. During weight loss I always ate 100g a day, and now in maintenance, I still consider 100 my minimum but usually get 150 or more. I wish I could say eating more protein was a guarantee of turning it around, I still struggle to figure out the solution for me.

we discovered early on that I malabsorb protein. I got in 80 g a day pretty much immediately following surgery, but it wasn't enough. My albumin and prealbumin levels were abysmal. So I was advised to get at least 100 g a day. I usually eat 100-150 grams, but sometimes more. My blood protein levels are still at the low end, but at least they're in the normal range now. You may be malabsorbing protein as well.
