Questions for Doctor
About 2 years ago I applied for the bypass. My insurance denied it because lack of records. Once denied I let it go. Now I'm ready but I'm looking at the sleeve instead. I have an appointment set in a couple of days. I have all my medical records ready to go to be sent in so I won't have the same problem. I contacted my insurance company so I know that I have 4 months that I dietitian appointments, and psychiatric eval. I'm wondering what questions I should ask my doctor??

I would ask:
How many VSGs have you performed?
Do you do the surgery or is it a resident or junior doctor?
What complications are possible and what is your rate of various complications?
How successful are your patients - what percentage weight loss do they maintain after 5 years?
Do you think I am a good candidate for VSG?
What follow up does your program provide and for how long?
I addition to Mahonia's questions, I would ask "how do you define success?"
