Happy Saturday, VSGers! One kid is at a sleep over and the other kid had a friend to sleep over here so it's been a quiet morning. I slept in compared to what I'm used to! We don't have a lot of plans for today. I need to go to the drug store and buy a few things and to start to think about throwing some things in a bag for my trip to DC next week.

Good morning! After a day in the 50s with gale force winds and rain, I'm happy to have sun and summer back today... A walk sounds good, but other than that no plans. Though it is our town's summer festival this weekend so there are craft booths, fireworks, and a demolition derby tonight. I've never been to one of those - it could be fun or at least something to experience once! I'm staying away from the church doughnut truck as I love doughnuts.

I had horrible night last night. I overate at dinner (mmm, asparagus) and paid for it with lots of bowel distress. Not my smartest move.

Nine days until surgery, though, so that's awesome! Today I'm going out to see The Dark Tower and grocery shop but, aside from that, it's paper paper paper. I'm really stressing out about this paper and I'm not sure why - maybe because it's the first one I've written in a while and maybe because it's the first one of my BS work. Blah.

1: protein shake
2: the movie spans lunch, so I'll have a protein bar
3: another protein shake since I need to get my protein up for surgery
4: "oslo kebabs" - I'll just eat the meat and some sauce.

What a beautiful morning!

Got up way early and went for a 9k (2 hour) walk... taking it easy today because my leg is still causing lots of pain.

Having our housewarming party tonight, will have a bunch of friends over and will be BBQ-ing and playing LRC and poker. Lots of junk food, but I can navigate it with no problem. Picking up a veggie tray and some hummus if I get tempted.

E: 9k walk, cleaning house, shopping

Fred, if you are still having leg pain, you need to give the walking a rest. I don't know if you've done your tests yet, but if walking causes you pain, you shouldn't be doing it. I'm not trying to be a busy-body, but if your nervous system is sending pain messages, you need to listen to them. You won't die if you don't exercise for a while. But you could hurt yourself significantly if you keep exercising in the presence of persistent pain. --> Just concerned here...

Good morning- up and out this morning by 7 am two hours at the gym , home and hit the hot tub and getting ready to head to a brewfest and then to Montreal to see a MLS soccer game-

I was so busy yesterday cooking and then serving at the church buffet that I didn't get to post. But I kept it simple with decaf and premier caramel for breakfast, chocolate premier for lunch, and a thin slice of ham and a deviled egg after the fundraiser was over. We had a huge crowd and I can't wait to find out how much we raised tomorrow! Today I slept in because 2 days of cooking and running around yesterday had me pooped out. Going up to the shop later to see what I can do to help out. Deer season is coming up fast and we are close to finishing the remodel but time is running out.

Just after 1:30pm here, and it's raining and 68F!! LOL Gotta love the schizophrenic weather that is the Midwest! August?! Campers and counselors getting soaked, but still having fun!
