Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Wednesday 8/2/17
Being around goal weight is a bugger. I saw goal one day and my scale had a hiccup and didn't track it for me. Now I'm back up by 1.6lbs this morning. I know it's not the end of the world (or rather, I keep trying to tell myself that) but come on! Amping up my water consumption today and really dialing in the carbs! I had cut back on my cardio, but I'll add that back in if I need to!
I went to my work out last night thinking it was going to be my usual upper body heavy (for me) lifting and my trainer threw me a curve ball and had a circuit training work out ready. I did real push ups for the first time ever! If you had asked me earlier this year if I thought I'd see myself doing push ups I would have laughed at you.

How did your appointment go Erin? Carbs and working out is a real juggling act, I have a fear of carbs and work against myself at times with my exercise. I feel it is because I was diabetic that I fear going back? I have yet to find a balance I am comfy with, Nutritionist, trainer, everyone I talk to agrees I need to add carbs....But.....LOL
B- 2 scrambled eggs
S - Caramel Apple pie greek yogurt
L - Left over grilled sirloin
S - buddig meat
D - grilled burger with pepperjack cheese and no bun
E - back and shoulders- 45 minute cardio.
Stay healthy my friends, Mike
Oh, my appointment! I'm off all my meds now. I was taking 100mg of Januvia and he told me if I wanted I could drop it and we'll see what my A1c is in 6 months. Given that pre-diabetic A1c is 5.7-6.4 and I'm at a 5.1 there's no point in me paying $50/mo for the Januvia.
So, that's really weird and exciting. I feel a little bit like my security blanket is gone now, but I'm sure it will be fine. My trainer thinks I need to add carbs too, but given my diabetes (and I still do go high-ish with carbs) I plan to stay away from them. I know it does affect my workout and I get more fatigued than other's might. But, I think it's all a balance.

Yes - huge victory! Congrats.
I think it is hard for people who have not been diabetic to relate. My biggest struggle is carbs. If I add them, I want more and I feel it is dangerous. Even complex carbs. It is a balance, one thing I notice is I seem to be more fatigued on days I am not drinking as much water as I normally do.
Congrats..I am very happy for you.
I can't do protein shakes any longer either. Yuck-o. I actually haven't been able to since I went to solid food. I went to a support group early on and gave away all of them. Sometimes I wish I could, only for the protein load... but I sure don't miss the taste or the queasiness.
