Doctor approved VSG

Just wanted to keep you posted. I met with my surgeon today, after having been approved by the insurance for RNY, and we discussed whether a VSG would be a good option for me, since I prefer the latter as it is less invasive and doesn't have malabsorption and dumping etc. He said that in my case, and since I have already lost 20 lb on my own from the first visit then both procedures should work well. Notwithstanding that I have a very sweet tooth, I will have to discipline myself post-op without having to resort to dumping.

So, now his office will re-submit to the insurance and was told that usually this would take around two weeks.

So, unless I get any surprise from the insurance, for now, I am a sleeve in the making

Thanks again for all the support.

It is possible to lose the sweet tooth after surgery. personally I find that sweets aren't as tempting as they used to be, and I used to LIVE for chocolate ... but salty types of snacks are now my worst enemy.

If you fall down you just have to get back up.
