I'm on vacation and I was still up before 6 am, but I opted to sit on the screen porch and drink coffee and read my book instead of starting the thread. You're welcome!

We're planning on going into Lake Placid today to do some window shopping and maybe taking a Gondola to the top of White Face Mountain. It's raining and pretty cold, so we figured we'd get the indoor/car activities out of the way today.

Yesterday, I went out in a canoe for the first time. Boats and I don't mix. Even on the glass still pond I felt vaguely seasick. But, I did it! Not sure that will be repeated though.

M1: Premier Protein w/ Coffee and Miralax

M2: Dannon L&F w/ 1/4 cup blueberries and strawberries. We picked the blueberries ourselves on our way here!

M3: Volpi Roltini Mozzarella and Spicy Salami roll up (2 of them, found at a grocery store for an on-the-go lunch). I was impressed they were only 110 calories each and 10g of protein. Two will be 3oz, so a perfect meal size.

M4: Going to a BBQ place for dinner, so I'm not sure yet but it's bound to be protein forward!

E: Just walking around today, but tomorrow we go hiking and rappelling!

Are you going to Smoke Signals? If yes, is a great choice. I will be in LP region tomorrow, DW and I are going to hike, we are aspiring 46ers and have the day off. Enjoy your time in the Dacks!

We went to Tail O' The Pup in Raybrook. I hadn't been since I was a kid, but the Jamaican Jerk chicken was fantastic. I have at least 3 servings left too, so no need to buy any more food for vacation! I have never been to Smoke Signals, but we walked past it today and I told Jon if we do end up eating out again we should go there.

Tomorrow we're going rappelling at Ausable Chasm.

Yay vacation! I went to Lake Placid as a kid and still remember walking down the luge run. Fun times.

And I've seen an unusual number of references to canoeing recently. I think it's a sign. My mom and I used to canoe when my dad and brother were at scout camp and I'd really love to do it again. (River canoeing, so the shore will always be close.)

Your next surgery is coming up soon! How are you feeling about it? I did everything at once -- recovery was a ... pain in the butt, but when it was finally done it was done. Are you wavering at all on the rest of them? I'm considering (hoping / praying) for something that would eff up my flat tummy and I'm not sure if I would go through the plastics process again... I love my body, but damn now that I'm so addicted to crossfit, I'm not sure I could sit out for 6+ weeks again. (Don't read this as judgy at all -- I'm just curious how it's going for you).

My plan for the day:

B - fit frappe & coffee

L - pad sew ew (spelling?) leftovers

S - yogurt & protein shake

D - leftovers (for real! we were dragged to Seasons 52 last night, so the leftovers sat again)

S - tbd

E - crossfit

I have too much that needs to be done to have been able to do it all at once. But.. that's life. I'm definitely glad that I'm getting it all over in one 6 month period instead of dragging it out over years. I'm not sure I'd able to sustain that mentally.

I'm nervous about the medial thigh lift because of horror stories about complications, but I feel completely confident in my surgeon, so that helps to mitigate some of the nerves. I'm also glad that it's not until November, and my next surgery should be the "easiest" of all three.

The no exercise thing is definitely a bummer. I'm registered for a half marathon in March and I'm slowly coming to realize that I'm not actually going to be able to start training for it until January. And even now I want to be doing more than I am, but my abdomen is not ready. It's a drag, but, again, that's life. I know that, by 2018, I'll be recovered and back on the road I was on - but better than ever. It'll be totally worth it when I get there :)

Yum Seasons 52!

It will for sure be worth it. I really think that having plastics is a huge positive in terms of maintaining the weight loss. For sure anyone can regain, but for me when I hit a high point the tightness in my skin is a physical reminder to reign it it.

The physical loose skin being gone is super awesome, but also the benefit of having some help in maintenance is really awesom (especially as we get further out).

That's part of my hope/plan with plastics - I see it as a sort of insurance policy for regain. :) I am VERY financially motivated and I can't stand wasting money. So, for me, I feel like spending all this money is a HUGE incentive to maintain my weight loss. I mean... I think my 4-year degree will cost less than my plastics will cost. That's staggering and very motivational to me.

Of course, there's also the health side of things. Surgeries like these aren't a cakewalk for the body and I don't want to go through that risk for nothing either. But, if I'm being honest, it's really the financial investment :P

Should be a quiet day today, end of month for me and all my real work has been done.

Did my first family taco night in a long while last night and I did really well... I portioned everything up and there was no temptation to overeat. Was rewarded with a half-pound loss overnight.

Made double chocolate mint chip cookies last night to take to work today (split between my spouse's work and my own). My sister (who has RNY and is 2 years out) can't understand how I can bake and not eat all the cookies and/or dough, but really for me, baking is like my sister's knitting... I just like to make it and give it away for other people to enjoy. Different triggers for everyone, right?

B: protein shake

L: spiced up chicken with broccoli slaw and riced cauliflower with sesame ginger vinaigrette

S: protein shake

D: Mexican - green chile with black beans (no leftovers, gave the rest of the taco shtuff away last night)

E: At least a 5k walk today, plus at least 80 flights of stairs.

Yesterday was a good food day. Tonight I am going to see Atomic Blonde and I can't wait! After work I have to go buy chicken and throw it in the instant pot so the dogs & I have something to eat tomorrow! My goal is to be sure I eat before I go to the movie tonight. Last week I wasn't hungry.

Work is going reasonably well since I returned to my old job. S-O-S, but since I'm only doing 6.5 hours a day from home, its less mentally exhausting.

AM: Van PP with Macadamia Nut Cookie K-cup and SF torani chocolate

L: Chicken Breast, Cottage Cheese and hummus

D: Chicken Sausage, mixed greens, avocado, HB egg

Water & Vites

E: Walk the House
