How do you feel day after surgery?
I felt okay. I needed to use pain meds for 2 days and then just before bed to sleep for the next 2 days. The large incision hurt a bit longer than the rest. But I was able to walk with no problems.
On a scale of 1 to kidney stone, this was like a 3-4 for me.

I was going to say the same as Gwen! After having a kidney stone, VSG surgery pain was like a paper cut in comparison. At the time, I went home at the end of day two and didn't need any pain meds after I left the hospital. I walked gingerly because it does feel like you've had surgery, but it wasn't unbearable at all. I was tired for weeks, though.
LOL! Every person I've met who has had kidney stones compares all pain to that of a stone :D Which, in my opinion, is much more useful than just a 1-10 scale, because pain is SO subjective!
Ditto on the tired thing. I probably took a nap every day for the first week and then wished I had taken naps for the next few weeks.

I had my VSG last Wednesday. They gave me a pain pump with Dilaudid the first day, and I was watching for the little flashing light to start blinking every 10 minutes so I could push the button again, but laying in the hospital bed, there wasn't much else to do. I'm sure it helped me get some rest, but while it was the most major thing I've had done, it wasn't near as bad as when I have had back spasms in the past.
Tired, weak, still a little foggy from anesthesia. A little pain and moving slowly but not in agony or bedridden or anything like that.
I felt like I wanted to nap a lot.
