What would you think about this?

The top bloggers are Egg face and Bariatric Foodie.

I don't know of anything like Yummly. I'm not the sort of person to subscribe to blogs or apps and I've been doing this for so long, I couldn't see me needing someone else to do my food planning.

Good luck if you decide to go ahead with this venture

There are a lot of free sites that offer that. Lots and lots. And books. Free books or really low cost books.

You may be able to get it going. But be prepared that it may take months or years for that to be money making stuff.

You are still relatively new post op. The longer post op you are and how you reached your goal (have you?) And are able remain at goal - may determine if you get a good group of followers. Once you have followers,- adds money would follow.

I'm sure there are people who would pay for this. I wouldn't, nor would I use it. It would also violate OH's TOS to promote it here.

I would find it dubious as well because of all the different plans people are given to follow. I'm not sure if trust someone else to offer meal plans that were in my way of eating.

Hi Gewn

No I am not promoting it at all. Actually I haven't set my mind to pursue this idea yet. I am just asking for feedback and thoughts from likeminded people.

Thanks for your opinion.

Yes. I know you're not promoting it now. That was a caution for the future.

All I can think is that I bet Weigh****chers and other diet programs have about 100 pages of legal disclaimers embedded in their terms of service. I, personally, wouldn't want to own the responsibility of telling people what to eat, because if people started gaining weight, I bet there are some ramifications. Doing a blog and telling people what is working for you and being a role model is probably a better, safer, bet.

Also, we are all different sizes, and we all have different tastes and nutritional needs. I would be very wary of following someone else's meal plans and expecting it to work for me.

It's a nice idea, but like many people have said, there are plenty of books, apps, blogs, sites, etc that do what you mentioned for free & you'll be one among many established people out there. You'll have to find a way to distinguish yourself from what's already out there. I'm thinking you'll need to have an app that's free, then add premium stuff to it. If people like what's free, they might upgrade, but it'll take a long time & a big investment on your part b4 you'll see a return.

An app geared to wls people might be something to look into, but it's a niche market. Good luck to you.

I know of a few paid meal planning services for weight loss patients. I'm not gonna give the names on here cause 1 I don't want to promote and 2 from what I've seen, these people charge a lot of money for there monthly plans. I've seen a couple sample menus on these sites and honestly in my opinion they aren't any better than some of the free sites I've run across.

Can you send the names in private please? Thanks!
