16 days out.

Started feeling very dizzy yesturday, aswell as I slept till 1.30pm yesturday and was not feeling right at all.

My private hospital tells everyone not to start vitamins till 3 weeks post surgery, ( Yes I am sure about this, I have confirmed this with my surgeon and nurse) Please dont give me a lecture about this i cant go against my surgeon, i have seen alot is different with protocol between UK were I am and US etc.

I am very very dizzy sometimes like pass out dizzy , but i am yet to pass out lol.

What can i do to relieve this please?

thanks

Check with your doctor, but one of the common reasons to feel dizzy can be dehydration. So make sure you get your liquids in, all 64 ounces or whatever your surgeon requires. It is very hard just after surgery, at least was for me, and the only way to do it was sipping pretty much al the time since I couldn't drink more than a sip at a time. That gets better tho! Some people develop hypotension, but again, your dizziness should be discussed with the doc to see what he thinks.

How much fluid are you getting these days? How much protein? I doubt this is vitamin related.

Does it happen mainly when you stand up? Or are you dizzy all the time? Do you take blood pressure medication?

Call your surgeon and ask about this.

I agree with those above that yes you need to talk to your surgeon about this right away and also that it could be dehydration. It helped me a lot to suck on ice all the time so that I was getting in as much fluid as possible even when it was hard to drink. I still kept sipping as much as I could too.

Had VSG on 9/28/15

Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!

Thanks everyone.

I take blood preasure meds for malignant hypertension.

I wondered about dehydration but i feel i have been doing pretty good i woke up like i was dying in a desert this morning was so thirsty and couldnt open my eyes. think i did 52 ounces yesturday i fell asleep on my last bottle .

protien im not getting in really more tha 30g or something . remember im not allowed protien shakes, and a can of tuna and mayo through out the day does not account for much , emailed my surgeon but not heard back.

I am on my third bottle of water now, but still thirsty.

i get dizzy when i move around to fast.

It sounds like you need to get your BP checked right away and potentially have your BP med dose lowered. Make sure to talk to your doctor about this today!

If you are thirsty and only getting 52 oz, my vote is dehydration.

I felt so bad by day 3 with not enough liquids, I tackled like it was my only job. I got up early and never didn't have a glass of something to drink in my hands. I sipped every 10 seinds or so. By the end of the day I managed over 100 oz. Try varying the temperature of what you're drinking. I found hot or warm beverages much easier early on as well as anything that wasn't plain water (I still struggle with plain water unless it's ice cold).
