Hi Amy,

Think about this.....when I moved from IL to NorCal it was so hard. I didn't know anyone and the people here are not as friendly as I am LOL That being said I have been able to make friends and connect via 2 sites. You might want to post on nextdoor.com and see if there are any other weight loss surgery people to meet up and talk, support each other and share recipes, get together for walks and so on. I also have meet some people via meetup.com. If there are no weight loss surgery meet ups, start one. You never know Until then we are here for you and you can always message me anytime!

Take care,

Kathy

I'm still working on my post surgery full liquid phase, but there are a few recipes I am excited to try.

Baked ricotta cups

Chicken crust pizza

Cauliflower crust pizza

As for breakfast, there is no reason you can't have anything for breaking your overnight fast. The Japanese have Sushi! Cowboys used to have Steak and Eggs. (ok you can't have the eggs... but you can have the steak)

Best of luck!

It is better to travel and get lost...

Than never to travel at all.

I've been wanting to try the cauliflower and chicken crust, I've heard good things!

I'm definitely going to eat different things for breakfast too, and I need to start getting more creative! Good luck with your recovery, you're going to love what's to come!

I am 9 years out, had 97 pound regain. I've lost 74 pounds of it since October. I recommend increasing your protein, decrease carbs to 50 or less, up your water (or decaf tea, sugar free flavor packets you can add to water, etc.), and what are you doing for exercise? Cardio goes a long way towards converting fat to muscle.

Protein, for me: ribeye & chicken thighs are easier to eat. Chicken breast is good for protein, and nearly calorie for gram of weight. Stay away from processed foods, breads, pastas - even 'whole grain' versions. Eat low carb fruits & vegs.

Sorry, probably more than I needed to say...

Wow, 9 years out?! It's been hard for me to find those that are over 5 yrs out. Great job on losing the regain so far! Have you found it to be harder the 2nd time around? It's looks like I'm mostly doing everything you suggested in your comment and I appreciate your feedback! I do need to up the exercise though. I can't afford the gym and some days it's just too hot to take more than a stroll around the corner, especially pushing a stroller. Lol

I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 8.4 in almost 3 weeks, and that just motivates me more to keep this going! I'm hoping to weigh less than my previous low weight. We'll see!

Actually, my trend has been very similar to my original loss. I think that is because I was already exercising and lifting two to three days a week. Once I decided to lose the weight, I stopped flaking out on my work outs, then around six months doubled my cardio, which REALLY increased my loss. I went off course with carbs and had a gelato and Danish relapse for about a week two weeks ago, but have now got myself back on track.

Days when I don't feel like going to the gym, I walk laps around the kitchen island, down the hall to the bedroom and back in, around the living room, etc. I can do it during commercials if I'm watching TV. I do it on breaks during work (telecommute), and mostly I just put on an audiobook and keep walking. I'm not a runner due to an old injury, but as I am losing, I am working up to a jog. Potentially, running may be something...
