2 week pre op diet suggestions
Hi guys, I'm a newbie and my vsg is scheduled in 8 days. I am struggling with this liquid diet I finally broke today. I ate 3 bites of tuna, 1 bite of a mini corndog and 5 crinkle cut fries (can you tell I have kids, lol). I feel bad but I felt like my body needed something. I don't even get 500 calories a day drinking protein shakes and water. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can have to keep from feeling sick?
Sadly the liquid diet sucks. Mine was 5-6 protein shakes a day. Your body doesn't actually need something. You'll be fine with protein shakes and water. And, sadly, when you deviate from the diet, you just have to go through withdrawal from carbs all over again. So sticking to your plan is in your best interest.
When you say you're getting sick, how are you feeling sick? In what way?

What shake are you drinking? How much fluid are you getting? Can you try other protein shakes? Maybe you're having a reaction to something in the shake you're drinking?

I had my surgery on 7/6 and this is an amazing journey. You have to stick to the plan it gets easier, I am a living example. Shrinking the liver is important, you can do it!!!
Day three of the liquid diet is the worst. By day 5 all that is pretty well gone. This seems to be the norm for most of us anyway. What you were going through is carb withdrawals and is kicking your butt. Like was mentioned previously get off of it now and you will do so much better. Best of luck on your journey!
