Morning VSGers! I'm up and around early this morning and enjoying my coffee before work. Today is my 6-month post op anniversary. I'll post an official post when I hit goal because I have 1.6lbs to go! But as of today, I'm down 136lbs from my high weight and 82lbs since surgery. I would have *never* thought I would see the 140's in my wildest dreams, but here I am! Woo hoo!

B: Dannon L&F w/ PB2

L: BBQ Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast

D: TBD, maybe salmon?

S: Premier and Coffee

E: Not today, I have my 6-month post op appointment and it's a couple hours drive

Way to go, Erin!!

I was rooting around in my dresser and found a LandsEnd bag that had never been opened. It had a cute little swim skirt and rash guard shirt and a regular swimsuit all in my current size! It's from 4 years ago. Why I never opened it, I don't know, but that's something I would do. I haven't worn a swimsuit in 25+ years. Eek! So I'm all set for my kayak/stand up paddleboard.

Yesterday was a fun day of watching racing sailboats. The Chicago Mackinac race was this weekend and seeing hundreds of sailboats work their way past our house was a sight to see! We also had ice cream for National Ice Cream Day. I got the smallest scoop they had and still had to give a third to my dad to fini**** was delicious, but I'm good if that's the only real ice cream I have this year.

B - coffee and yogurt

L - protein shake

D - smoked ribs, corn on the cob, salad

You are a rockstar and that's a super cute dress!

Today is a big day for me - it's exercise day! However I'm not quite sure how to "do" today.

My normal schedule would be to wake up, exercise, protein shake, shower, and get dressed and ready for the day. These days, I'm really tired in the morning. I haven't been sleeping well and, even beyond that, just getting up out of bed can be tiring. I feel fine once I've gotten my shake into my body, but I don't feel so awesome prior.

So I'm thinking that I'll need to do wake up, protein shake, digest, exercise, shower, and get dressed for the day. This is suboptimal since it adds that digestion time before I can exercise, and if my exercise is something for outside and I'm trying to beat the heat, that's a drag. But I'm hopeful this will be a temporary thing in the long scheme of my life to come. Once I finish digesting today my plan is to do some gentle yoga at home today to check in with my body and see how it's working. I figure I'll do the 15 minutes beginner relaxation class from my favorite yoga app. I am excited!! I've missed moving my body very, very, very much.

1: protein shake
2: protein shake
3: I need to meal plan today, so I haven't decided yet. Art is out of town on business travel and that means I get to cook lots of fish and chicken thighs. Tonight will probably be a fish night. (Edit: Tonight will actually be leftovers, so that I don't need to make a special trip out just to the grocery store. Tomorrow, fish!) -- leftover ground beef curry

liquid and vites: on track (but I need to set up my vites today for another week)
exercise: YOGA!!

Well, that seemed to go well. Definitely have a loss of flexibility that I'll need to work on. I had one small twinge of discomfort in my abdomen when going into a reclined twist but was able to quickly make an adjustment to alleviate it. Lots of stiffness in non-abdominal muscles due to lack of use. But, overall, no concerning pain and it felt great to move and stretch my body. I consider this a win!

It quickly became apparent that I won't need to worry too much about moving too far in any one direction because my body seems to actually be incapable of moving too far right now
