Crunchy and crspy

i am missing crunchy and crispy foods. I have never been a potato chip eater but I would have some croutons in soup, or have crackers with cheese sometimes. Now I am avoiding those but what is a substitute that is good for a craving like that? I want something that isn't terrible for me, that you eat in moderation occasionally. Most of what I eat is soft. Like cottage cheese, salmon, tuna, yogurt, and shakes, which is why I'm missing that texture. I had some wasabi pea and fire cracker mix yesterday which I won't do again as it isn't healthy. So hot the craving tackled for the moment. But know it will be back.

Microwave Pepperoni Chips

Use turkey pepperoni - much healthier than regular. You can also make the same sort of thing using any cheese you like -- but the cheese chips work better if you use parchment paper rather than paper towels.

This next bit will sound preachy and I apologize for that!

Your other alternative is to remind yourself that this is the best opportunity you will ever have to break the habit of indulging every food related craving that comes along. Cravings should not control what you eat. You may be giving in to cravings in a semi-healthy way now, but trust me, that will get tougher and tougher as things go on. Good luck!

I eat Whisps every now and then for the crunchy chip like texture. They are little quarter size crunchy crisps made out of only Parmesan cheese. They have them by the deli section at Walmart and I have heard people found them at Costco and SAMs as well. Just be cautious cause some have said it is a slider food for them. For me I have no issue counting out my 15 whips portion and that is that.

These are also a favorite crunchy snack for me. I usually have half a serving at a time. They are zero carb but somewhat high calorie due to fat.

Love love the whisps. I order the Parmesan ones and the cheddar. It feels like a total cheat but it's not. :)

It's probably not the best choice but I sometimes have a few pork rinds on a salad, or with stuff like tuna or egg salad. Zero carbs. I like them, and they are just not as addictive for me as chips were.

Pork rinds are another favorite crunchy item for me too. Trouble is too much of it gives me gout.

I will have measured amounts of pork rinds, very sparingly tho, because it's easy to overindulge. Mini cucumbers have a nice crunch, celery, carrots, which I dip in tzatziki. Moon cheese, also, but again, BIG trigger and easy to eat too much. Is your craving perhaps for sodium as well as crunch. Is it the texture or the salty flavor you're missing?

I think it's both, crunch and salt. I don't crave crunchy sweet after all.
