Hi, I just had the gastric sleeve surgery 10 days ago. All in all I'm starting to feel very well. Only prob about 2-3 days ago I felt a sharp pain. Initially, it didn't hurt to the touch. Tonight as I was getting ready for bed, I felt an sharper pain and I swear it felt like it ripped. Now the pain is a little more intense and more painful)

Can somebody tell me what is going on?

I hope you've gotten an answer from your surgeon about what is going on. I've only now seen your post and I experienced the same thing at the same point in recovery.

I was told it was 'adhesions' forming internally. That it was the beginning of the formation of scar tissue (normal). That at this point the adhesion was very sticky and painful as it is doing its thing. That by the months end (30 days or so) the 'sticky' would 'solidify' and the pain would be completely gone.

I used more pain meds that 2nd and 3rd week than I did immediately post-op. AND it did stop hurting quickly. I found the key was to get ahead of the pain and stay ahead of it for a couple of days. This meant taking the maximum dose as often as you can (each pain medication is on a different schedule.

I know it hurts. I told folks it felt like I'd been 'skewered' and I was scared because it wasn't near any of my incisions AND I couldn't find anyone else who'd had the problem. Please feel free to read my blog post(s) as I did my best to document it.

It does get better and it is so very worth it.

Best wishes.
