It was a picture perfect July Fourth on the lake yesterday. Lots of fireworks and fun in the sun here. We did go to a huge annual party where the signature drink is a rum punch with like 7 kinds of rum. Nothing like being the only sober person on a beach full of drunk people! We did have a shrimp boil for dinner which was delicious. I was so glad to have stuck with just a protein shake for lunch, I'm doing it again today.

Hope everyone else had a good day too!

B - coffee and yogurt

L - protein shake

D - salmon and asparagus

I'm glad you had a good holiday! I've never been a drinker so I'm always amused when I'm the only sober person and everyone else is drunk. (Although, that's rarely the case as the places I've been tend to have at least one or two other sober people that I can hang out with!) I could hear a lot of fireworks in my development last night, but I didn't actually go out to see any.

I'm 30 days post-op and 40 days pre-op today. My butt has started to rebel from all the sitting I've had to do, so I've started laying down a bit to read and stretch my body out and give my butt a break. I'm annoyed that walking outside isn't super feasible for me and would recommend that anyone with allergies avoid abdominal plastic surgery during their allergy season :P

Today should be a nice day. I've finished my reading for the week for class so I plan to get my discussion posted today. I'm finally feeling like I'm on track and not a few days behind where I'd like to be each week. Woo! And tomorrow I have a followup with my surgeon which I'm looking forward to a LOT because I have a few questions.

1: protein shake
2: protein shake
3: whatever the guys provide - last night I ended up having meatloaf and asparagus. Yum!

liquid and vites: didn't set up the vites, so I'm off track with those today, but good on liquids.
exercise: nope - see above

Happy Wednesday everyone!

My day yesterday was just ok. No celebrating or relaxing for me. I'm trying to get packed up for a move in less than two weeks. But I made a lot of progress, so I'm glad I had the day off.

B: coffee and yogurt

L: turkey tacos with chipotle salad on top

D: unsure, but will probably pull some salmon from the freezer. Trying to eat the frozen stuff before the move. I may cook some cauliflower tots. They have been a trigger for me before, so may have to rethink that choice.

S: yogurt

My friend's parents own a house on the Chesapeake Bay, so we had our own private beach for the day. Five kids and each one got stung by a jellyfish at some point or another. Needless to say, I did not swim but I did enjoy sitting in the shade!

Luckily, we didn't do any "big" food gatherings. We had steamed shrimp for lunch on the beach and pulled pork with North Carolina style BBQ sauce for dinner. My appetite is back, so I'm trying to make a real effort to get in at least 700 calories. I can't 100% confirm without my own scale, but it appears I have dropped a large amount of weight in a short time during this vacation.

B: Coffee w/ Premier Protein

L: Turkey and Cheese?

D: Prime Rib or pulled pork or shrimp leftovers

S: Yogurt?

My friend took this picture of me yesterday, I kind of love it!

That's a gorgeous picture! I can almost imagine a mermaid tail that we can't see.

We took the family to Disney - Had a great time with the kids and grandkids. My favorite ride was the star wars ride, but the best part was having the whole family together and seeing the grandkids enjoy the parks. What fun.

Before we left for Disney, I lost a few pounds, but I gained them all back now. So its time to settle down and get back on plan. It is terrifying how easy it is to gain weight!

Breakfast - salmon

Lunch - orange chicken over a bed of spinach - yum

Dinner - cheeseburger pie

Snack - I hope none, but perhaps another serving of salmon if I can't hold out til morning...

Best of luck with your weight loss process!

Carol

Welcome back! How is your arm?

I'm thinking your weight is just travel weight which means it'll be gone before you know it :)

Hi Gwen,

Thanks for your warm welcome. My arm is improving. Its been out of the cast for 3 weeks now, but the muscles need some time to stretch out and strengthen again. So it still gets stiff and has some pain when I exercise it. But its on the mends.

I hope the weight will fall off. Between the trip to Spain, the broken arm, and now my trip to Disney, its been a long time off plan. But I'm determined to get back on track.

How are you doing with your recovery from your plastic surgery? I hope you are healing and happy.

best wishes,

Carol

I'm glad it's doing better and on the mend. And I know you'll be successful at getting back on track.

Recovery is getting a little better every day. I'm still tired and take the occasional nap and I have weird twinges and tight feelings in odd places. I'm able to shower standing up the entire time now except for when I wash my hair, so that's a nice improvement.

This is definitely the hardest surgery recovery I've ever had though. Thankfully the next one should be easier.
