I think I am having a mental breakdown

I think it started with my pre-op diet and having to stay around 800 calories a day. I just became so aware of ALL these foods i couldn't eat. I have lost 9 pounds since surgery last week, so seeing the payoff is definitely a help.

You will still want to eat thoughð??-Hang in there and don't hang out at the table, I got so desperate I would put the food in my mouth chew on it and then spit it out,,,, didn't really help?. Once you get on soft foods you can use refried beans as a meal and source of income, I happen to love them ( being from Texas) so it was a big help. Add a little grated cheese on top ,,,,mmmmmm it was like eating a steak with mashed taters and gravy, lol.

Right after surgery I couldn't stomach protein shakes at all. They would make me gag. It took all day to get through obe of them. Like others have said you will get past that. It gets so much easier once you can actually chew something again.
