Money saved

I can't say that I have saved even though we are a 2 sleeve household. I go to the store more often to get fresh things instead of the weekly big time grocery run. I also get higher quality meats and seafood instead of mac and cheese. I no longer eat stuff just to avoid letting it go to waste. Its either go to waste or go to waist and butt! Also go to health food stores more which tend to be pricey. Diane S

I saved a lot. Right after I had surgery, Wendy's, Little Debbie, and Lays had to apply for federal stimulus funds.

Weekly grocery shopping less by @50 due to no junk food or soda. I do buy Premier Protein shakes, but that replaces a meals so it evens out.

Where I save a lot of money is eating out. Before WLS and when I was working, I ate out at least 3 times a day. I probably only cooked at home 1-2 times a week. I used to budget $200 a month in spending money. I now eat out maybe 1-2 times per month and spend about $15-20 a month in clothing at thrift stores. I bank at least $150 a month into my "MAD MONEY FUND". I do buy patch vitamins but they are funded from the money from my Asthma and allergy meds that I no longer take.

Saved a lot of money so far... not eating out for lunch saves me $50+ a week. Even counting the vitamins and calcium chews and protein shakes I'm way ahead.

A gym membership is not extra for me, I've had mine so long that I'm only paying $99 a year. (and I actually do - and did - go!)

Buying lots of fresh food from Trader Joe's is my one vice, but thankfully it's a pretty damn cheap one... I can get about 10 day's worth of fresh produce, low-cal dressings/sauces, a pack of meringues for the spouse, and get out of there under $20.

For protein I go frozen since it's much easier to deal with.
