Can I just have one thing to eat today without ruining my pre surgical diet? I have been really good all this time but I'm really wanting to eat something normal. Its making me crazy being on this liquid only diet!

Keep your eyes on the goal - stick to the plan. You'll survive! If you're allowed to have a SF popsicle, try that, since it might help you with the "I want to chew something" thing.

I start my liquid diet tomorrow, but I'm allowed to have very small sensible dinners because my liver isn't too big. Don't cheat. Keep small goals in mind. If you really want deterred, look up fatty liver and how it complicates surgery. I believe in you!

You can do this! If you're on day 10 you're nearly there! I had 2-weeks liquid diet pre-surgery, and a week after, and believe me, if I can do it, so can you. Have some good rich beef or chicken broth, it saved me during the 3 weeks of clear liquids and shakes I had to endure. The SF popsicles are a great idea, or even some SF jello.

But don't give in, because now is the time for you to start exorcising those demons. Remember, they are evil and what got you here in the first place. Don't listen to them any more!! You've got this, hang in there!!

I'm on day 7 of my two week pre-op. I understand your cravings. The office I work in is next door to a pizza place, which means I smell fresh pizza all day long!

The protein shakes my clinic has us use include Chicken Soup, Broccoli and Cheese Soup, as well as Chocolate, Vanilla, and Lemon Puddings. The soups are nice as they aren't sweet. The pudding has some texture.

Hang in there, you can do it!

It is better to travel and get lost...

Than never to travel at all.

I made it past my craving crisis. My husband said go ahead and have one but I'm not getting it for you. It kind of shamed me so his response worked. I have SF popsicles, and have been having my soup. Three more days of this diet and clear liquids only on Monday. Strangely enough I weighed 5 lbs heavier yesterday than I was previously. No wonder we give up so easily. When you are on an 800 calorie diet and gain weight it makes no sense. Thanks you all for your suggestions and support!

Sometimes the weight gain is water... from sodium. I once ate nearly an entire jar of pickles (pre vsg), which have few calories, but tons of sodium. That week at weigh****chers it was not pretty!
