What to take to the Hospital
Surgery is Tuesday morning and I'm packing to go. I'm sure to miss something so I'm asking for your input... what do you wish you'd taken or had with you?
Weights: HW 370, SW 336, GW 180 (fantasy 145), CW 268.1 (pre surgery -34, M1- 26, M2- 16)
Dates: Referral - Aug 26, 2015, Info Class - Dec 4, Optifast - May 2nd, 2017, Surgery - May 23rd
Surgeon: Dr. J.D. Yelle, Ottawa, ON
To be honest all I used was my shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush and clean undies. I slept a lot the first day immediately after surgery. When I was awake I was just focused on sips of water and walking. I did touch any of the stuff I brought with me. Day 2 it was more walking and sipping water. Again didn't touch anything. So I would say take very little with you, you don't need it. If I needed something I just asked. The more you walk the less gas pain you will have. When they come to check on you ask them to walk with you.

I took my tablet with the Kindle app so I could read, and it had my rainstorm sound file that I play to help me sleep, and headphones. First time I ever slept in a hospital (at least I slept between the times they woke me up lol).
I took my Kindle Fire but never touched it. Used my phone a couple of times to send updates
to my daughters and co-workers, but other than that just toothpaste, toothbrush, clean undies, hairbrush,
since hospital provided all other hygiene essentials.
I focused more on rest and walking.
Best of luck tomorrow!!! You'll do great.

Surgery Date- 10/12/2016!!
This is the list of EVERYTHING I took:
the clothes I wore (loose, baggy dress; panties, bra, sandals)
second pair of panties for the trip home
glasses + case (NO other jewelry)
chapstick
kindle
iphone
USB plug
long USB cable
USB external battery to avoid a cord crossing the room
The hospital provided toiletries, gown, etc. Don't bother to take that stuff.
I used everything I took except the kindle - I'm glad I took it because it's a comfort thing. I get weird when I don't have my book with me. There's nothing I didn't have that I wished I'd had.
