20 days post op and I've been so nausea the past two days. I started mushy food Monday and I've been taking Pepcid and pepto and nothing seems to be helping. Suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?

dehydration causes nausea. Are you drinking 64+ oz of liquid every day?

It might be just my mind but I have been taking Zantac and that seems to help with the nausea I get at night. Just a suggestion make the food even mushier or just eat a bit less. I will admit the nausea was not something I was prepared for at all.

Have you called your surgeon? How much fluid are you getting in each day? Are you taking a PPI such as Prilosec or Nexium?

I did call. They suggested going back to a liquid diet for the day and it hasn't helped. I'm getting my 64 oz daily. I was thinking of taking something stronger than Pepcid tomorrow and see how it goes and calling my surgeon back again if I'm still nausea.

Good idea about calling tomorrow if you're still nauseated. In addition, 64 oz is really a minimum. Try increasing it.

Just a little update, I called and they're going to prescribe me a PPI, the nurse thinks I feel nausea because of acid reflux. Cant wait to take it and start to feel better. Thank you for your help!
