Edamame Pasta

Edamame pasta has quickly become one of my favorite foods! It's better than zoodles and tons better than konyaku (miracle) noodles. 2oz is so filling and has 25g of protein for 210 calories and 11g carbs. I've got my whole family eating it!

Where do you find it? Edamame is the only "veggie" I eat right now because I haven't gotten my protein intake high enough to add veggies. I do like it occasionally as a side dish.

I get it at my local high end grocery chain.

The protein ratio is good, but I'd be a bit concerned about the carbs. The most successful folks here keep their carbs under 25g/day while losing.

I'd also be worried about volume. Edamame or "regular" noodles, slider foods like pasta don't fill you up and stick around in your stomach the way dense protein does. You may be full after 2oz now, but I don't imagine that will stay that way for long.

I keep my carbs under 20g and have been able to do that while eating edamame pasta. I agree though that I can never eat more than 2oz at a time because of the carbs. I'm hoping edamame doesn't end up being a slider for me since it is so dense, but I will be vigilant!

But you could be eating cheese instead! :D

For me, "replacement" foods are a bad path to be on. I know they work for some people, but replacement pasta would be just as easy to eat too much of as normal pasta and, when you get right down to it, will never fill me up the way steak will.

Good point. I'll have to watch myself carefully to make sure I don't overdo the pasta replacement!

Yum, Cheese - but for the same amount of calories I would get half the protein!

It's definitely a learning process and, seriously, they might work really well for you.

I didn't care for the Edamame noodles. It reminds me of the strong grass smell in pure green tea. It also has 11 grams of carbs per serving. But, the Edamame does have 25 grams of protein. Have you tried the Healthy Noodles from Costco, only 1 gram of carbs and 0 protein. I actually prefer making my own spaghetti noodles from zucchini.

Hey Guys,

I was reading this and wanted to check it out. Hmmmmm, the screen shot from the back of the box is saying 21 grams of carbs for 2 oz instead of 11? Yikes
