I know in my area we have a clinic for people with eating disorders. I mention this only because there are so many more disorders than the big 2 we all know. If you can locate a clinic like that might be a place to start. At least the may have a list of specialist. Maybe try checking in with you General Doctor, they may have someone on their lists too.

A lot of people maintain on 1000-1200 so it is not surprising that someone might gain on 1500 calories a day. It sounds like you have two choices- eat less or learn to be happy at a higher weight.

I don't know your height or current weight, but at mine (5'3", 116 pounds more or less), my maintenance calories are around 1300. My in-person support group lead (from surgeons office) told us to eat 1700 calories while losing. BTW, she had RNY several years ago and is about 5'8" and has weighed in the high 200's since I met her about 18 months ago.
