Intro and surgery update
Hey there! I figured I'd just introduce myself really quickly as I think this online community seems like a great resource that I'd like to utilize often! I had my VSG on April 25th so I am 12 days post op. My day consists mostly of "what the hell did I do?" moments along with trying to get down fluids and soft foods. I've had to have IV hydration two times since I was discharged and along with that I got a dx of Pancreatitis. I've been very sick everyday and the only thing that makes me even remotely happy is the scale moving rapidly. I feel like I need to be in a support group for food addiction, "Hi, I'm an addict". This journey has been very difficult to say the least. Thx for letting me vent. (thx to Kathy S. who left a very sweet message for me, I couldn't figure out how to reply!)
Welcome to the community.
If you haven't started working with one already, I highly recommend finding a therapist to work with through this process. There's a lot to unpack and deal with - especially if you have food addiction. Overeater's Anonymous (OA) might also be beneficial to you if you have a local chapter.
I'm glad you're working on keeping hydrated. That's your number 1 job right now :)

Congratulations on the surgery. Most of us have some regrets shortly after surgery. It will pass.
For the first month or two, we suffer with all the negatives from surgery and recovery. But then the negatives have had time to pass, and the wins start piling up. Then, you'll be happy every day.
