I had my surgery on May 1 and it wasn't until yesterday I started to feel like myself again. It will get easier but it's important to follow your post op instructions, they're there to make this transition easier, it may not seem like it but your almost there! Just keep pushing

I am still struggling with drinking, trying hard to ge****er in. And of course for protein it is liquid shakes. But these are hard to drink too. I managed two liquid shakes yesterday, and two spoons of yogurt. I thinks that's like 350 calories max. Is that typical? Somehow I thought I would be having 500 to 600 calories minimum. And while we all have a goal of weight loss, I don't want to hurt my body in the process. Worried about heart muscle in particular.

Surgery date May 4, 2017

HW 290. Start weight 229. Day of Surgery 209. Month 2: 190. Month 3: 182. Month 4: 174. Month 5: 164. Month 6: 159. Month 7: 153. Month 8: 147. Month 9: 145. Month 10: 142. Month 11: 138 Month 12: 137. Month 13: 139 Month 14: 131. Month 15: 130. Month 16: 131. Month 17: 128. 162 pounds lost!!

Two year anniversary upon me in 3 days: 136. Need to lose a few pounds..

You have reserves of pretty much eerything at this point. There's no need to worry about your heart.

But you'll end up back in the hospital for dehydration if you don't drink more. A LOT of the crappy feeling you have right now is from not drinking enough.

An IV puts it in one drop at a time. You can do it one drop at a time the old fashioned way. It's a lot easier.

Aim for more every day. You can do a little more.

It's normal to not get many calories in at this point and not a problem. You MUST get at least 64 ounces of liquids in. The protein (and calories) can wait. Your muscles and your heart will be fine - your body won't be fine if you don't hydrate.
