Incisions/pain

How long does it take to heal them, or at least so they don't hurt?

My stomach feels like it was in a car accident. Every movement causes pain except just laying flat on my back.

Yesterday was the first day I didn't feel any pain. That was 8 days. It was also a day after having the staples removed. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not though.

Are you taking pain medication?

For me, the pain was something that I noticed a lot when it was there, but when it stopped it took me a few days to realize "Oh, the pain is gone now."

Take your pain medication.

I have oxycodone. But I don't like to take it. This is day 3.

I expect that in a few days it will be fine. But now every bend or turn is a killer. I bought one of those midsection wraps which gives some support at least. But very aware of belly area at all times.

If you don't like to take the oxycodone, ask your surgeon for something different. You need to be taking something for the pain, it will help you heal and help you maintain your sanity. There's nothing noble about suffering through the pain to avoid taking pain killers.

I'm the same way with the oxycodone, I hate how it makes me feel so I started to take them only at night before bed. My largest incision is the one that hurts so much. Yesterday I had to sneeze and only let out a half sneeze because the pain was excruciating. Even laughing makes it hurt. All the others are fine except that one. I really hope you feel better soon best of luck to you!

I feel the exact same way. One incision is causing all my pain. I can't walk for long and the oxycodone doesn't last long. I've started taking Motrin 400mg every 6 hours and oxycodone every 5 hours. My surgery was May 1st. I thought I would have issues with the diet but the incision pain is causing me excruciating pain. I also put ice packs on my stomach.

Try a heating pad instead.

Ya know, someone else advised me of that too! I didn't think of it because they gave ice packs in the hospital to place on my stomach.
