That's funny about the hiccups. I had them so bad yesterday. I called my husband to tell him I was being discharged and was hiccuping so much, he was laughing hysterically. No sign of them today.

Now just need to sip and walk a little. Have 1600 steps on the Fitbit but need a minimum of 5000.

Oh, did anyone start coughing post surgery? I was fine before that, but now I feel like there is a big congestion in my lungs, which is hard to cough out since it hurts to cough.

I got the coughs a few days post op. I just had to do this awful low growl thing to try to clear the crap out of my throat but luckily it only lasted a few days. Hang in there, recovery is HARD!

I had my surgery last Monday and I was having the same problem. Especially since I had really bad gas pains. Warm tea and broth worked better for me. After I was discharged I was able to have diet Snapple, plain water got me extremely nauseous so I had to stay away from that for fear of vomiting. Take your time and sip slowly 5 minutes apart. I did the timer method and it worked for me. My stomach is slowly getting used to it. I'm still a little sore but walking also really helps. On my second and third day I cried and had so many regrets, but it got better and I'm so much more optimistic now. It gets better just try and find something that you can tolerate. Best of luck and I wish you a speedy recovery
