The rain is back...wi**** wasn't. We needed a longer break. Close friends of my sister live by the nearby river, and lost their house and everything they owned except what they had managed to pack in their RV before they evacuated. So many families affected in Missouri . Mother nature can be a true ***** sometimes.

B: Toasted marshmallow Greek yogurt w/natural peanut butter, coffee w/heavy cream

L: Tuna salad w/egg

D: Hard salami and colby jack cheese sticks

Water and vites on track

E: Sorting out the garage

I'm so sorry, the news out of Missouri has been horrible! Mother nature is wonderful, but very scary at times as well!

The sun is finally back in Chicago -- makes the morning better.

I'm having lunch with some old friends today, so that should be nice. One of my former co-workers is applying for a job at my company this afternoon and we are going out beforehand. I know how hard it is to find a new job, so it is cool to offer support / help when I can.

weight is trending down. I have actually been taking my focus off of food, so this is surprising, but I will take it. I am keeping my eye on it. If it moves more than a few more pounds, I probably need to adjust something. We are in a volume mode at the gym. I don't know all the ins and outs of what those mean, I just know the workouts have been long and heavy, so that might have something to do with the scale moving.

B: fit frappe & coffee

L: thai food w/ friends

S: yogurt parfait & protein shake

D: leftovers: chicken thighs (unless hubby let's me have his left over filet), brussel sprouts & mushroom rissotto (from trader joes - sounds better than it is).

S: will decide tonight

E: crossfit: deadlifts & 30 min EMOM tonight - will be tiring

I crossed the 50 pound mark today! This surgery is pretty amazing...

B - coffee and yogurt

L - Going to the Pasadena design house today with a friend, so not sure what's happening for lunch

D - meatballs, marinara, and cheese

S - protein shake

Something I need to work on is cooking in smaller quantities. Cooking for one person has always been a problem for me (I love to cook and I would end up eating huge portions because I would make too much). But with the small portions post-surgery, it's gotten kind of ridiculous at this point! I don't mind eating the same thing for a few meals, but eating the same thing for days on end followed by freezing parts I didn't get too or throwing food out is a problem...

Way to go, Cecily!! I find cooking in batches and freezing is the best way for me to deal. I try to cook a couple of things at a time, and the result is a variety of stuff in the freezer ready to nuke or pop in the oven, and no waste! I utilize my crock pot A LOT for this.

You mentioned the Food Saver the other day. I have one and never use it, which is crazy since one of the issues I have with freezing is stuff ends up freezer burned. I need to beef up my freezer skills!

OMG yes, it makes all the difference. I don't even have the expensive one, just $18 hand held and you get bags that have a port in them. You just hold it on and suck out the air. Then i rewash the bags in the dishwasher. It's awesome! Plus, I get 12 oz plastic freezer containers from Amazon in a batch of 40 (room for expansion so 8 oz are too small). My freezer is full of vacuum sealed bags and plastic containers with prepared food lol
