May 4

Tomorrow is the start of clear liquids for two days before surgery. Any other May 4 people?

I haven't cheated on the regular liquid shake diet, and am kind of disappointed that I have lost only 6 pounds. It has been a hard slog since 4/21.

But definitely very nervous about surgery. Really, less the surgery itself but the aftermath. I have worked hard to get here. Kept on my track. Have to make it through two days of work, being cheerful and busy and productive, and it's going to be tough. Did many of you work right up to surgery day?

I had surgery on a Tuesday and took Monday off because I had to do the bowel prep.

May 4 for me as well. I have to be the hospital at 5:30 am. I am the first surgery of the day. I am on day 13 of a liquid only diet. I have cheated a few times, I had mashed potatoes and a half a piece of pizza. I am down 10 lbs today but I don't see it. For me that has always been the give up point, not actually seeing my hard work in the mirror. Tonight I am having my husband take some pre surgery pictures so in a few weeks I will see the change. I am not so nervous for the surgery I am nervous to be away from my 3 year old son. I have left him before for a week to go on vacation but not to have a major medical procedure. He will be fine... mommy will be fine too.

I have a 4 year old girl and am also super nervous about having surgery. I've explained that mommy is having surgery and that it will all be okay, but not sure she understands. Have you talked to your son about what is happening?

Yes, the liquid diet is awful. I did not cheat. Today is clear liquids and I feel awful. Oh well.

Good to to hear from another person who is also May 4. I have to be at the hospital at 6am, would kind of like to sleep thru the next day and a half.

I know, it's just the start. More liquid diet later post-op. Going to binge watch some Netflix later to distract myself.

I'm also having surgery on May 4th! I'm working tomorrow as well. It feels like tomorrow is going to be the longest day ever! I'm nervous, but just ready to get it over with and get started with my new life.
