Ahh I wish I didn't hate going to the store so badly. I'm also single, but my desire to avoid grocery shopping means I stock up when I can. If I'm lucky, I only have to go once every couple of weeks. I have a vacuum sealer, keeps my fresh stuff fresh for a long time, just so I don't have to go lol

I probably would need 6 months. Or longer.

I am a food hoarder. We doing better, but 2 fridge, + huge freezer..

I have been eating a lot of stuff from that.

But... The is so much more.

I do buy fresh fruits and veggies. And eggs. Can't freeze eggs.

Ughhhh, frozen eggs scare me. I think they are secretly trying to kill me.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Haha, I do this too. Especially when I was buying 1/2 cows, 1/2 pigs, and whole lambs from a local farm!

I'm jealous now! I'd love to do this, but the reality is I don't have room with teenyapartment.

Sadly I haven't gotten to in a while, since the farm we'd been getting meat from went through a nasty divorce for the owners. Which is sad for many more reasons than my meat supply as I considered the owners to be friends!

Hopefully some day we'll be able to get bulk local meat again. It was always a fun challenge of "how to use this random cut?" And "what cuts of meat do I want and what roasts do I want?" Our meat farmer always thought we were weird since most people get steaks and chops and stuff and we pretty much got everything as roasts (because, seriously yo, I can cut my own steaks and chops).

Dear Donna -

Consider this an intervention....throw away the items from your liquid phase! Eat what you have and replace one item for every three that you eat. When you put a new item in the freezer - mark the date of purchase on it with a Sharpie. Make doubly sure that all the items in the freezer CAN be eaten at this point.

I am also frugal (smirk) but you need to do this challenge. You've taken the first step, now comes the hard part.

Good luck and may you find the bottom of the freezer sooner rather than later.

Oh, all that stuff is getting tossed! Well, if it's still good I will donate it, of course. I will check the expiration dates. I don't ever want to eat it again!

I actually do label everything. I'm just a horrible hoarder. Sometimes frugality is a disguise to buy steak on sale. >.>

Like you, I must confess that I'm a meat hoarder. I can't pass up a great deal on meat & isn't that what a second freezer is for? Alas, I vow to join the ranks & use up what's there, even if we have to eat chicken, every night, for the next two weeks!
